Roundabouts are notorious places for cyclists, and I'd like to know how the Dutch find their roundabouts compared to cycling on the road in the UK. I'd expect these to be much safer, but I was quite shocked watching the footage as many motorists are failing to give way and cutting bikes/mopeds up quite badly.

It's not perfect, but the motor traffic seems to be travelling at lower speeds than they would at a comparably sized roundabout in the UK (a result of the clear cycle/pedestrian crossings and markings and the sharper corners and little traffic islands)
ReplyDeleteYeah, speeds do seem to be lower, and unlike UK roundabouts exit speeds seem to be lower.
